Poplar Ridge Farms

There's nothing quite like a homegrown tomato. Except maybe lettuce fresh from the garden, or a sweet, crispy carrot, or a crunchy, spicy radish, or... Let's be honest, we love eating fresh garden veggies, no matter what kind. At Poplar Ridge Farms, we want to share our passion for exceptional food with you! The farm is owned by Brian and Coleen Jones, and we have been growing our own food for as long as we can remember. We have been farming in the Shenandoah Valley since 2004 and enjoy producing a diverse mix of vegetables, livestock, and grain. In 2018 we expanded our home garden into a market garden and began a new chapter in feeding our community. Brian is the visionary and the muscle of the farm. He's always had a passion for growing things and worked on a vegetable farm in his teens. Fun fact - in college he rented a field so he could have a garden (a big one!) and he canned in his apartment kitchen (a small one!). He loves cooking and sharing great food. Brian develops the planting and harvest plan for each season, keeps everyone on track with a weekly schedule, and you can meet him at the Waynesboro market or picking up orders in Warm Springs. Coleen is the one who tracks all the details for the farm and oversees marketing and finances. She oversees the washing and packing of all your veggies and manages seed starting and growing transplants. She grew up on a dairy farm and believes food is better when combined with butter or cheese. She was once mistaken for a rabbit and to this day prefers veggies raw. On market days, you'll find Coleen in Staunton.
