Independence Acres came from the idea that we are all free to make our own choices. We choose to grow animals that make our lives better by being nutritionally dense and healthy protein options. We currently are farming on land that has been registered as "farm land" since 1805. It has been in Jason's family for going on 3 generations. The cows are rotationally grazed and get fresh pasture every couple of days. We maintain a low stress farm, the animals are moved quietly and at their pace. Since the farm transition in 2020, we are no longer using chemical fertilizer on the fields and are growing more sustainable forages. We are constantly amending the soil and increasing the forage quality, for all the herds. All our animals are on pasture, grazing and tilling. We have stopped mechanical tilling and only use the animals. We drill in new seeds to the fields to increase nutrition.

November 14, 2024We're members of the winter CSA and couldn't be happier with the quality and selection of the meat. The ground beef was absolutely beautiful, and is the best quality I've ever seen. The other cuts have meat we received have been fantastic. It changes a little from month to month and I love it! Opening up our blue tote bag each month is just like Christmas morning as a kid. I can't say enough about Independence Acres, as their products inspire me to cook exceptionally tasty meals.
